Maruti is all ready to launch a new edition of Nexa Ciaz and its bookings would start in July. As per reports, earlier Maruti was planning to replace the 1.3-litre diesel fiat made engine in Ciaz with Maruti’s own made 1.5-litre diesel engine but looks like for the time being Maruti has decided not to make such heavy changes in an already successful car. Further news Is that present 1.4-litre petrol engine would be replaced with a 1,5 liter one to give more power to the car. This step is taken to fit in competition with Hyundai’s Verna which has a powerful 1.6-litre engine and Honda City which already has a 1.5-litre petrol engine.
Even though diesel variants of competitors are also powerful, it’s not known why Maruti has decided against increasing the capability of the diesel variant. Looks would be altered to make the car sleeker while interiors would be similar to the previous edition of this Nexa Sedan. Ciaz was launched in 2014 but no major changes have been made in the ar except shifting it to the premier line of Nexa but now Maruti is making efforts to market it against Honda and Hyundai’s flagship cars.
Toyota is also launching Yaris in this segment which will heat up the overall competition. Price of the Ciaz is also expected to be increased a bit from present rates of 8 to 12 lakh range. We hope new Ciaz would also be as per the legacy created by Nexa.
